Which control mode should I choose?
Touch is a straightforward starting point: hold the reel button or use short presses, then release to ease the line. Motion controls let you guide the line by gently tilting a supported phone. Both modes aim to keep the white indicator over the fish’s green target area; neither mode removes the need to follow the fish.
What still uses touch?
Casting and hooking the fish use touch in both modes. Hold and release the cast button to set power, wait for the bite prompt, then tap to hook. Tilt controls take over the line movement during the fight.
Choose your mode in Settings
Open the game’s Settings and find Fishing controls. Choose Touch or Tilt your phone. Your control preference is saved with your captain. You can return to touch controls if you prefer them or if your device cannot provide motion readings.
Calibrate before reeling
Sit comfortably and hold the phone with both hands at the angle you want to use. Start calibration and keep still for about one second. This sets your resting angle. You do not need to shake the phone. Recalibrate after changing your grip or returning to the app when prompted.
Tilt gently in the right direction
Tilt the phone toward yourself to move the indicator right and reel; tilt it forward, away from yourself, to move left and ease the line. Follow the fish with small angle changes. During a dive, tilt forward to loosen the line. Keep watching the on-screen cue rather than making large movements.
Adjust sensitivity to your grip
Start with Balanced. Choose Gentle if small movements feel too abrupt, or Responsive if you want smaller tilts to have more effect. Try the control preview and recalibrate before deciding whether to change sensitivity again.
If motion controls stop responding
Keep your grip steady and try calibration again. If the device cannot provide sensor data, use touch controls instead. Motion support varies by device. For a persistent problem, send support your device model, operating system and game version, together with a short description of what happened.
